Launched in 1997 with the help of Tony Dungy, then head coach of the 2006 Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts, All Pro Dad gives men the resources and encouragement they need to become better fathers. All Pro Dad is built on a football theme and features more than 50 NFL players, coaches and alumni who speak out on the importance of being a good father.
We believe every child needs a dad they can count on. The research is clear: children thrive when they have an involved father.
There can never be too many healthy fathers and father figures in the lives of Greater Cleveland's children. The Healthy Fathering Collaborative believes in supporting and empowering fathers to develop their assets as nurturers, caregivers and providers of their children. The HFC is a leader in the Asset-Based Fatherhood Movement.
Our mission is to improve the well-being of children by increasing the proportion of children growing up with involved, responsible, and committed fathers. We're working to educate all Americans, especially fathers, about the important role dads play.
There are four key tools we use:
In 2007 Governor Ted Strickland reestablished the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood by convening newly appointment Commission members and setting aside a portion of the Governor's Office Faith-Based and Community Initiative's (GOFBCI) appropriations for staff support and an Ohio Fatherhood Initiative grant program.
The Ohio Practitioners' Network for Fathers and Family is a Statewide Network of fatherhood practitioners and stakeholders whose mission is to enhance the outcomes of children, families, and communities by providing information, training and encouragement to father and family-serving practitioners.
GOALS:
Summary of a study done by researchers at Concordia University on the positive influence that fathers can have on the development of their children through hands-on parenting.
